Congratulations to the Honourable Minister of Education, Priya Manickchand, on her noteworthy appointment to the Commonwealth Education Ministers Action Group (CEMAG) during the stakeholders meeting at Marlborough House (Commonwealth Secretariat) in London.

Following a two-year hiatus, the Conference of Commonwealth Education Ministers (CCEM) reconvened to deliberate on the future of education across the Commonwealth’s 56 member countries in the aftermath of the COVID-19 pandemic. Acknowledging the substantial learning setbacks caused by the global crisis, the CCEM recognized the challenges in reverting to established schooling norms. Consequently, these difficulties became pivotal focal points on the agenda for the gathering.

We extend our best wishes to Minister Manickchand as she undertakes this crucial role, representing Guyana on the international stage. Her dedication to addressing the educational challenges post-COVID-19 is commendable, and we have confidence in her ability to contribute significantly to the advancement of education within the Commonwealth. May her endeavors in the Commonwealth Education Ministers Action Group be marked by success and positive outcomes for the benefit of all member countries.
