Phillip Williams – Head of EDYOU FM

Mr. Phillip Williams, the head of EDYOU FM, the Ministry of Education’s radio station within the Distance Education Unit, recently graduated from Salford University in Manchester and is passionate about Guyana’s digital revolution. With a Master’s degree that combines solid theoretical knowledge with practical skills, Williams is on a mission to make significant contributions to Guyana’s ever-evolving digital landscape.

New Skills and Competencies

Through his studies at Salford University, Williams has expanded his knowledge of digital media, entrepreneurship and management, all of which are valuable skills in this transformative period in our nation’s history. Williams has acquired in-depth knowledge about Information Systems and Digital Technology at the corporate level, which has enabled him to plan and integrate business information systems. He has also gained a critical understanding of Search Engine Optimization (SEO) and Social Media Marketing as tools of corporate communication in an age where having a digital presence is necessary.

For Williams, the Digital Business and Entrepreneurship module of the Master’s in Digital Business programme was a game-changer. It provided him with knowledge essential for success in contemporary business settings; he understands the role of innovative and disruptive technologies like drones, robotics, and wearable tech and is well-prepared to drive digital businesses forward.

Additionally, Williams credits the Project Management, Leadership, and Skills aspect of the programme for improving his ability to lead complex projects and resolve problems effectively. It has given him a comprehensive understanding of the planning, control, and operational processes that ensure project success.

A Vision for the Future

Phillip Williams is a visionary who is ready to take on the new challenges and opportunities of this digital age. His education at Salford University will greatly enhance his leadership roles. In expressing delight with his achievement, Williams cheered, “I am blessed to be alive for such a time as this in Guyana and  happy  to contribute to the metamorphosis we are experiencing as a nation.”

Team EDYOU congratulates Mr Williams on his latest achievement and wishes him well in his future studies.
