The sum used to offset the expense of this training was derived from a US $642,000 EdYou FM received from Inter- American Development Bank (IDB). This is the first tranche of money used from this sum.
This assistance falls under the project 5180/BL-GY-2; Support to Safety Nets for Vulnerable Populations Affected by Coronavirus in Guyana.
Projects under BL-GY-2 will target the production of 450 new radio programmes, catering for students in the nursery, primary and secondary school students (up to grade nine) in the areas of Mathematics, Language Arts, Science and Social Studies. It will also help to strengthen the radio station’s capacity with updated production resources.
